The Lady Eagle Golf Team traveled to Winchester this past Saturday to compete in the George Rogers Clark Invitational at Cassell Creek Country Club. The tournament featured a total of 15 different teams from 6 regions across the state, 69 individual competitors, and measured 5,404 yards form the competition tee's.
Johnson Central's very own Zoee Crum took first place overall, shooting an incredible 69. She defeated 2nd place finisher Morgan Markwell (Morgan County) by 3 strokes (72) and 3rd place finisher Abby Crites (Ashland) by 8 strokes (77) to round out the medalist. Overall every individual on the team shot a personal best at the event, resulting in a 3rd place finish with a score of 350. First place was Martha Layne Collins (336) and 2nd place was Morgan County (343).
The Lady Eagles are set to begin regional tournament play Monday, September 26th, at Paintsville C.C. (Region 10)
